テッドマンのキャラクターの元祖はアメリカのtattoo(タトゥー)とされていますが、さらにさかのぼると大戦中の米軍の部隊のマスコット(レッドデビル)がルーツと言われています。

悪運を吹き飛ばしラッキーを手に入れると言う神話は軍人が士気を高め、無事に帰還できる事を願った思いが込められていたようです。

当時、このテッドマンのキャラクターのルーツである悪魔小僧のTATTOOが、口から噴き出す炎により、邪鬼を吹き飛ばし身に付けている者にラッキーを招く！と云う噂が伝承され、このTATTOOをバイカーやロッカーなどアングラ系の若者達がこぞって腕や肩に刺しました。

これがテッドマンズの誕生秘話です。

テッドマンレーベルの主な製品は、テッドマン(ラッキーデビル)のキャラクターをベースに、ミリタリー、モーターサイクル、ワークなどアメリカンカジュアルスタイルのテイストをプラスして、シルエット、素材、ディテールは現代風にアレンジしたアメカジアイテムです。

L-2フライトジャケットはアメリカ軍(米陸軍航空隊)が開発したライトゾーン用のフライトジャケット(ボマージャケット)です。

MA-1が中綿入りの防寒重衣料であるのに対して、L-2は中綿なしの薄型フライトジャケットです。

中綿が詰められていませんので、モコモコ感がなく、すっきりとした着用感になります。

また、薄手のライトアウターですので、春先から秋口まで軽く羽織れ、年間を通して、幅広く着用できるアイテムです。

フロントジッパーの引き手部分(スライダー)には、グローブや手袋などをしていても、簡単に開閉が可能になるよう考慮されたレザータブ引手が付きます。

左袖には、エマージェンシーキット(シガレットポケット＆ペンポケット)が設けられています。

左胸付近のジップ脇には、酸素マスクのホースをクリップで固定する目的のナイロンツイル製のオキシジェンタブが付けられています。

ウエスト部分には斜めに口が開くスナップボタン付きのフラップポケットが、両肩にはスナップボタン留めのエポーレット(肩章)が配されています。

スナップボタンにはテッドマンが刻印されたブラックコーティングメタルボタン採用されています。

裾のジップエンド部分には、三角形のフラップが付きます。
